The Mexican Federation of University Women (FEMU) is a national association of academics, member of the Graduate Women International (GWI), the first organization of university women in the world, founded since 1919 with pacifist purposes.

FEMU has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. We work for women as a fundamental element to achieve the comprehensive development of people.

Through our research, teaching and dissemination work, we promote respect for Women's Human Rights. We hold conferences, seminars and workshops, and we have published 26 works.

Ten years ago, we created the Women's Museum to take a tour through the history of Mexico with a gender perspective, showing how difficult it has been for women to obtain their rights.

We produce a weekly radio program, “Mujeres a la Tribuna”, which is broadcast nationally every Friday through Ciudadana, 660 AM, from the Mexican Radio Institute.

Dr. Patricia Galeana Herrera, Founding President, and Dr. Mirella Feingold Steiner, Executive President, as well as the rest of the Steering Committee, invite you to join to work together to promote a culture of peace and respect, prevent violence, promote a mentality that eliminates discrimination, overcome patriarchal atavisms and achieve recognition of women's work.
