Goals

  • Work in defense of the Human Rights of women in Mexico.
  • Promote a culture for peace, understood not only as the absence of war, but as the cultural environment in which humanity can develop it’s potential, with respect for the human rights of each and every member of the national community.
  • Prevent violence.
  • Promote a mentality that works against discrimination.
  • Overcome patriarchal atavisms; value the contributions of women to national life.
  • Work for the development of the female population through educational and cultural activities.
  • Achieve recognition of women's work.
  • Spread a constructive image of women through the media.

Institutional goals

  • Improve the situation of Mexican women, by promoting the updating of the legal framework, the school system and the dissemination of a culture of gender equality.
  • The editing and publication of books, magazines and newsletters in both print and electronic media.
  • The organization of various academic and cultural events in various states of the Mexican Republic, such as national and international courses, congresses and seminars, conferences, round tables, workshops, forums, exhibitions of artistic works and others of the same nature.
  • Participation in radio shows.
  • The establishment, institution, coordination and organization of educational and cultural centers, museums and libraries that allow knowledge of the history and situation of women.
  • FEMU's participation in all academic, scientific and cultural fields at the national and international levels.
  • Carry out high-level scientific and technological research, from a multidisciplinary perspective, in areas that contribute to the social, economic and cultural development of women.
